The link below is being redistributed on behalf of the Government of Canada, with the following message from Caroline Wawzonek, Minister Responsible for Strategic Infrastructure, Energy and Supply Chains:
“The Great Bear River Bridge is an important piece of a much larger vision for transportation in the Northwest Territories. With $405 million in federal funding through the Arctic Infrastructure Fund, we can advance this critical infrastructure while continuing the engineering, environmental and planning work needed to move the full Mackenzie Valley Highway forward. This investment will help build a more reliable, all-season transportation corridor, strengthening supply chains and connections between communities while creating opportunities for employment, training and economic development. It is also an important investment in the resilience and security of the North. “We appreciate the Government of Canada’s partnership and remain committed to working with Indigenous governments and organizations, communities, businesses and industry to ensure this work delivers lasting benefits for northerners.”
