The approved projects include:
- Borealis Development Inc. – The NEST ($600,000)
- NWT Brewing Company Ltd. – Carbon Capture and Utilization Project ($33,000)

Grants support up to 75 per cent of eligible project costs.
Funding for this program is provided by the GNWT and Government of Canada under the Low Carbon Economy Leadership Fund.

“Canada’s ongoing transition to a sustainable economy presents us with a substantial opportunity to invest in clean, renewable energy. - Michael McLeod, Member of Parliament for Northwest Territories
“The Yellowknife Post Office was built in 1956. The building is unique in Yellowknife and modernization of its architectural elements and mechanical and electrical systems is required. We are very appreciative of the GNWT for supporting our building energy upgrades. This project could not have proceeded without the Greenhouse Gas Grant Program. The level of assistance and enthusiasm we receive from program personnel was exceptional.”
- Darrell Beaulieu, President, 6133 NWT Ltd.
“NWT Brewing Company is always looking for ways to improve the sustainability of our operations and better serve our loyal customers. The funding we’re receiving from the GHG Grant Program was critical to us making a decision to go ahead with this project – one that will not only help reduce our carbon footprint but will lower our costs, reduce supply chain issues and improve the efficiency of our beer production.”
