Media are invited to attend the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) 2026-2027 Budget Lockup.

When:             February 5, 2026

Where:           Arthur Laing Building, 6th Floor, Large Boardroom

Time:              9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Embargoed copies of budget materials will be available, and Department of Finance staff will be available to answer technical questions.

Finance Minister Caroline Wawzonek will attend the lockup for interviews between 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM. She will not be available for interviews later that day.

All information provided in the lock-up is embargoed until the budget is presented in the Legislative Assembly at approximately 1:30 PM on Feb 5, 2026.

Reporters planning to attend the budget lockup must RSVP by 3:00 PM on February 4, 2026. Please note the following:

• Media are asked arrive by 8:45 AM
• Reporters may only attend the media availability with Minister Wawzonek if they participate in the lock-up session.
