Residents of the Northwest Territories are invited to share their views on the future of agriculture and the local food system.
The Government of the Northwest Territories is seeking feedback to help guide the next five‑year agriculture policy framework, which will run from 2028 to 2033. This work builds on the current Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, a federal, provincial, and territorial investment supporting a strong, sustainable, and resilient agriculture and agri‑food sector.
Have your say by:
- Completing the online survey by July 5, 2026
- Submitting written feedback by email to amanda_herbert@gov.nt.ca
Input is welcome from farmers and producers, agri‑businesses, Indigenous governments and organizations, industry representatives, community organizations and anyone interested in local food and agriculture.
Feedback will help identify what is working well, where improvements are needed, and what opportunities exist to strengthen the sector across the Northwest Territories.
Next steps:
Survey results will inform discussions with federal, provincial, and territorial partners as the next agriculture policy framework is developed. Pending approval, the new framework is expected to begin April 1, 2028.
