The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is looking for input on the Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP). This input will directly inform any updates to the NTNP for 2026 and beyond.
The NTNP is an economic immigration program administered by the GNWT, in cooperation with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. The NTNP allows the GNWT to nominate and support the application to Canada, for permanent residence, of foreign nationals who intend to live in the NWT and who meet specific economic and labour market needs in the territory.
Read the engagement guide for an overview of the NTNP and key areas where we are seeking input.
For detailed information on the NTNP, including the program’s current eligibility criteria, please visit www.immigratenwt.ca.
The public is invited to provide feedback by September 30, 2025 at: https://haveyoursay.nwt-tno.ca/nwt-nominee-program
