Health and Social Services Professions Legislation

News Releases

April 8, 2011 - The Department of Health and Social Services is currently working on developing Health and Social Services Professions Legislation, which would provide for professional licensing for a number of health and social services professions under one Act.

The first professions to be addressed under the proposed legislation will be Licensed Practical Nurses, Psychologists, Emergency Medical Service Providers, and Chiropractors. However, this proposed legislation may affect a number of unregulated health and social services professions should it move forward.
