Housing NWT Invites Proposals for Encampment Outreach Support Project

Public Service Announcement

Yellowknife — September 8, 2026

Housing NWT is inviting proposals from organizations interested providing proactive outreach services to people experiencing homelessness and unsheltered homelessness in Yellowknife, including those living at encampments.

Outreach activities will include relationship building, wellness checks, identifying needs, connecting individuals with available supports and services and gathering trauma-informed and culturally appropriate information to support service coordination, planning and responses to homelessness and encampments.

This Encampment Outreach Support Project is funded under the Unsheltered Homelessness and Encampment Initiative to address encampment-related homelessness in Yellowknife and across the Northwest Territories. This initiative supports targeted, community-driven responses to unsheltered homelessness that improve safety, dignity and access to services for individuals experiencing homelessness.

The Request for Proposals is being conducted through an open and competitive procurement process. The work will be carried out in Yellowknife and is subject to Business Incentive Policy requirements.

Interested proponents can get the full RFP documents and information on how to submit a proposal through the Government of the Northwest Territories procurement website.

The closing date for submissions is October 7, 2026, at 3pm.
