YELLOWKNIFE (December 19, 2012) - The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is seeking public input on a draft Prelude Lake Management Plan (PMP). The plan is in response to issues arising from the increased popularity of the park. The PMP seeks to address some of the major concerns that can affect park users’ enjoyment, including: parking space, all-terrain vehicle use, marina congestion and the need for additional camping space. The PMP outlines suggestions to address these issues, both in the immediate and longer term. This is a draft plan only and public input will be key in shaping the final plan. Feedback is especially encouraged from Prelude Park residents, Prelude Park users and the Yellowknives Dene First Nations. Input on the PMP can be provided via an online survey, available at: www.nwtparks.ca/preludesurvey. Comments and feedback can also be emailed to preludelake@gov.nt.ca. The draft PMP can be found at: http://www.iti.gov.nt.ca/tourismparks and www.nwtparks.ca. For more information, contact: Tracy St-Denis Regional Superintendent North Slave Region Tel: 867-920-3230
