ITI Minister Attends Tourism Minister’s Meeting

YELLOWKNIFE (October 13, 2010) - The Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment Bob McLeod will attend the Canadian Council of Tourism Ministers fall 2010 meeting from October 13-15. This meeting brings together all the territorial, provincial and federal ministers responsible for tourism portfolios.

Minister McLeod is participating in a number of information sessions and formal discussions during the event. He will also use the opportunity to advance tourism issues of importance to the people of the Northwest Territories, including improving federal support for NWT tourism initiatives, mitigating the negative impact new federal transportation regulations are having on NWT tourism operators, and outlining the current work being done to develop a new tourism strategy for the territory.
