GNWT launches new careers website

News Releases

YELLOWKNIFE (August 15, 2013) – GNWT Careers, a new website from the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT),  makes it easier to learn about and apply for positions in the territorial public service and encourages workers throughout the NWT and Canada to balance life and experience living as a GNWT employee.

“I am excited about the new website and the opportunities it provides to enhance our efforts to recruit a representative workforce,” said Minister of Human Resources Glen Abernethy. “It showcases our wide variety of employment opportunities and highlights what our employees already know – the GNWT is a great place to work.”

The GNWT Careers website includes a new “talent community” feature. By joining the talent community, individuals can receive automated updates when jobs in the areas they are interested in are posted.   Other tools on the new website include information on how to apply on a GNWT job, résumé writing and interview tips.  New content will be added on a regular basis to encourage people to consider GNWT career opportunities.

Applicants are encouraged to check the careers website often; available jobs are updated on a regular basis.

GNWT Careers helps fulfill the commitment made in 20/20: A Brilliant North – NWT Public Service Strategic Plan to support recruitment of a diversified, inclusive and skilled workforce.
