YELLOWKNIFE (May 17, 2018) - Do you know someone in the Northwest Territories (NWT) who is a great host?

The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is celebrating Tourism Week by recognizing – and rewarding – NWT residents whose actions and initiatives embody our northern spirit and make visitors feel welcome.

The NWT Host Contest invites participants to nominate someone via social media for a chance to win that person $250.

It’s simple. Post on your Facebook or Twitter tell us: 

• Who you are nominating
• What makes them a great NWT Host
• Use #NWTHost so we can see your entry!

The contest runs from May 14 – June 1 and ten prizes of $250 are available.  Learn more here.

A visitor’s experience extends far beyond hotels and tour operators – they encounter countless people within our communities. To keep the NWT’s $200M tourism industry growing, it’s important that visitors feel welcome during their stay. The NWT Host contest recognizes the important role that community members have on the territory’s tourism industry.
