The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is hosting the Northern Premiers’ Forum in Inuvik from May 16 to 17, 2023. Premier of the Northwest Territories Caroline Cochrane, Premier of Yukon Ranj Pillai and Premier of Nunavut P.J. Akeeagok will be in attendance.
Premiers are set to discuss a variety of topics that will advance shared work to continue to build a strong, vibrant and resilient North, including Arctic security, climate change, housing, health care and public safety. Forum discussions are also part of Premiers’ preparations to take their shared northern issues to the Western Premiers’ Conference and Council of the Federation tables later this summer.
Media are invited to a media availability following the Northern Premiers’ Forum. Premier Cochrane, Premier Pillai and Premier Akeeagok will be available to answer questions.
