Re-entry Update

Over the weekend, (Sept 8-10) 2876 vehicles crossed the Deh Cho Bridge northbound and 1,572 evacuees were flown home over the same period.
South Slave Pre-Registration

To assist with planning for re-entry of evacuees of the South Slave communities of Hay River, Fort Smith, and Kátł’odeeche First Nation, pre-registration for re-entry flights will be available both online and over the phone starting at 8am tomorrow morning. You will be able to find more information tomorrow on the Public Safety website.
GNWT Updates
NWT 9-1-1

During the wildfire evacuation of Yellowknife a temporary Alberta-based alternate number was set-up in case of a disruption of NWT-based infrastructure. Please note this number is no longer operational. Residents should continue to dial 9-1-1 throughout the NWT in case of emergency.
GNWT Pathfinders

The GNWT has established pathfinders to assist communities where damage has occurred.

Damage assessors have arrived in Enterprise to assess the property damage from the wildfire.
Highways and Airports

As of 8:00 am this morning, Monday September 11, the following changes will be in effect:

Tow trucks will no longer be patrolling the highway and there will be no emergency fuel available.

Temporary portable washrooms installed at Rae Access Road, North Arm Park, Fort Providence and the Deh Cho Bridge will no longer be available.
