The Northwest Territories Nominee Program has closed its 2025 intake. The program has received enough applications to fill its nomination cap of 300 allocated by the Government of Canada.
Applicants will be notified by email if their applications will be assessed or withdrawn.
The Northwest Territories Nominee Program will reopen in 2026. An announcement with additional information will be made at a later date.
Employers looking to address workforce needs may consider other economic immigration programs, including the Government of Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program and Francophone Mobility Program.
While the 2025 allocation cap for applications to the Employer-Driven Stream and Francophone Stream was reached, the Government of the Northwest Territories continues to accept applications for the Business Stream.
The Northwest Territories Nominee Program is one of several tools used to address ongoing labour shortages in critical sectors. The program helps retain workers who are already part of our communities, filling essential roles in health care, child care, hospitality, and other sectors where local candidates are not always available.
