YELLOWKNIFE (January 16, 2013) - Premier Bob McLeod today announced changes in the senior ranks of the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) public service. Effective February 1st, Ms. Gloria Iatridis leaves her current position as Associate Deputy Minister with Education, Culture and Employment to take on the role of Deputy Director of the Northwest Territories Human Rights Commission. Mr. Dana Heide moves from Associate Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services to take on the role of Associate Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Employment effective February 6th.
Mr. Heide was appointed to the position of Assistant Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services in 2008 and made Associate Deputy Minister in 2011. Prior to his appointment as Assistant Deputy Minister, Mr. Heide was the Director of Income Support with Education, Culture and Employment. He currently represents all three Territories on the Mental Health Commission of Canada and has served as the GNWT’s Director of Child and Family Services, Director of Integrated Community Services and the Director of Mental Health.
Ms. Iatridis was appointed as Associate Deputy Minister of Education, Culture and Employment in 2011, following five years as Assistant Deputy Minister, Advanced Education and Income Security. She is Chair of the Tri-territorial Working Group on Northern University Development and was Chair of the GNWT Anti-Poverty Working Group. In the past she has been responsible for the GNWT’s Income Security Review, NWT Labour Force Development Framework, establishment of the NWT Nominee Program and Canada/NWT labour market agreements.
