Premier Bob McLeod today announced the appointment of Mr. Sandy Kalgutkar as Associate Deputy Minister of Infrastructure. Mr. Kalgutkar will assume his position effective May 13, 2019.
In his new role, Mr. Kalgutkar will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of major infrastructure projects of critical significance to the long-term economic health of the Northwest Territories, including Taltson Hydro Expansion, Slave Geological Province Corridor, and Mackenzie Valley Highway.
Mr. Kalgutkar has over 29 years of experience in the public service and is currently Deputy Secretary of the Financial Management Board, where he has played an important role providing analysis and advice on all the critical financial decisions made by the Board. He led the planning and implementation of the Mackenzie Valley Fibre Link project, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) coordination of the Stanton Territorial Renewal Project, and development of the Tłıchǫ All Season Road.
In 2018, Mr. Kalgutkar received the Dave Ramsden Career Excellence Award, presented annually by the Premier to recognize the outstanding individual achievements and significant commitment of members of the GNWT public service.
