Premier R.J. Simpson issued the following statement today on the election of Currie Dixon:

“On behalf of the Government of the Northwest Territories, I extend my sincere congratulations to Currie Dixon, who Yukoners have chosen as their new Premier-elect.

“I look forward to working with Premier-elect Dixon and the Government of Yukon to keep advancing the priorities that matter most across the North. Together, the three Northern Premiers have developed a strong partnership, proving that, when we work together, our shared message carries weight in Ottawa. I’m eager to build on that success with Premier-elect Dixon and our future counterpart in Nunavut.
