November 7, 2011 – The Department of Public Works and Services will host the 2011 Project Management Conference from November 29 to December 1. Over 300 delegates are expected to attend.
“This conference is a chance for the entire northern project management community to share their knowledge on everything from procurement trends to new energy efficiency technologies, and will promote closer ties within the construction and consulting industries,” said Jackson Lafferty, Minister responsible for Public Works and Services.
This year’s theme, Latest Trends and Innovative Approaches in Project Management – Helping Northerners Prepare for Tomorrow, brings together a diverse group of people from the private sector and all levels of government. Delegates will include officials from Crown corporations, communities, local housing authorities, education and health boards, and representatives from northern construction, consulting, and manufacturing firms and associations.
The NWT & Nunavut Construction Association’s Northern Construction Trade Fair will be held at the same time as the conference. This will give delegates the chance to meet with northern manufacturers, suppliers and service providers to discuss conference topics and future business opportunities.
Through its support for the Project Management Conference, the GNWT is investing in the continued delivery of high-quality facilities that will meet the needs of NWT residents for years to come.
The deadline to register for the conference is November 18th, 2011. For more information, visit the Project Management Conference page on the Department of Public Works and Services’ website.
