The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT)is seeking feedback from medical professionals and the public on two proposed additions to the Medical Profession Regulations. These additions adopt the Canadian Medical Association’s Code of Ethics and Professionalism and put into place new standards of practice for physicians in the Northwest Territories.

Physician representation from the NWT Medical Association and the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority are developing the standards of practice in collaboration with the Department of Health and Social Services.

These additions to the Regulations will provide physicians and their patients with a clear understanding of physician requirements and expectations for their practice.
