The Department of Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA) is seeking feedback from stakeholders and the public on a review of the Fire Prevention Act (FPA).
MACA has conducted a thorough review of the Act and has drafted recommendations for potential revisions to the Act, as well as to the Plan Review process. Additionally consideration is being given to the development of a building standards framework.
The public engagement on the review of the Fire Prevention Act begins May 26, 2022 and will conclude on June 16th, 2022.
Information outlining MACA’s review of the FPA is available on the GNWT’s public engagement website at https://haveyoursay.nwt-tno.ca/review-of-the-fire-prevention-act. Please provide your feedback on the public engagement site or by emailing MACA_Info@gov.nt.ca on or before June 16, 2022.
Once this engagement has closed, feedback collected will be summarized in a What We Heard Report and published.
