The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is notifying the public of a scheduled maintenance outage by Northwestel, which will impact internet and cellular services in the Northwest Territories (NWT) on September 25, 2024, between 1:00 a.m. and 07:00 a.m. MT.

The GNWT is taking steps to ensure that 9-1-1 services remain operational during this time. Residents should still be able to call 9-1-1 if their phone system is operational. You can also contact the RCMP directly using their respective phone lines for your community if you have a landline or by proceeding directly to the RCMP detachment.

If you are unable to reach your local health clinic or hospital by phone during a health emergency, go in person for any urgent needs. For non-emergencies, contact 8-1-1 to speak with a registered nurse and receive guidance regarding your current health situation.
