Settlement Reached with DCBC’s Former Project Developer and Project Engineer

News Releases

March 7, 2011 - The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) and the former project developer and project engineer on the Deh Cho Bridge project have agreed through mediation to settlement of all claims for money owed under the claimants’ contracts with the Deh Cho Bridge Corporation Ltd. (DCBC). The GNWT assumed responsibility for DCBC’s defence of those claims under the Letter Agreement of June, 2010.

“The settlements are fair and reasonable and in accordance with the terms of the claimants’ contracts,” said Transportation Minister Michael McLeod. “Our focus now needs to be on the completion of the Deh Cho Bridge project and the benefits this all-weather connection will provide to the residents of the Northwest Territories.”

The terms of the settlements are confidential. The agreement settles claims for unpaid work and return of equity contributions and holdback. All court actions have been withdrawn by the claimants.
