Student Financial Services Launches Updated Website and Facebook Page

News Releases

YELLOWKNIFE (June 18, 2014) – The NWT Student Financial Assistance (SFA) Program launched an updated website and new Facebook page as part of the Department of Education, Culture and Employment’s commitment to improving communication with Northern residents.

“Through the Student Financial Assistance Program Review, we committed to enhancing communications to our students and families,” said Minister of Education, Culture and Employment Jackson Lafferty. “Through our updated website and new Facebook page, we are providing a better service to residents seeking funding for education. We want to ensure we are transparent and accessible, and allow residents the opportunity to create a dialogue with us.”

The updated website and new Facebook page will help SFA engage with prospective and current postsecondary students, parents and NWT residents.  These sites have general SFA information, provide a platform for communicating the latest program information and encourage discussion about available postsecondary funding.

This is not only an opportunity for SFA to enhance communication with Northern residents, but also provides the opportunity for the Government of the Northwest Territories and other northern employers to identify and promote employment and scholarship opportunities directly to NWT students.

The link to the SFA website will remain www.nwtsfa.gov.nt.ca and the Facebook page will be available at http://www.facebook.com/nwtsfa.
