Tourism Marketing and Infrastructure Programs Open for Applications

News Releases

Yellowknife — December 1, 2021

YELLOWKNIFE (December 1, 2021) – As part of its ongoing support for tourism marketing and infrastructure programming, the Government of the Northwest Territories’ (GNWT) Tourism Product Diversification and Marketing Program (TPDMP) and the Community Tourism Infrastructure Contribution (CTIC) program are officially open for submissions.

For the 2022-2023 intake, the department is piloting a change to the application process for both programs. Rather than have two intakes, which traditionally include an expression of interest (EOI) followed by a comprehensive proposal, applicants will now only have to submit one full proposal. It is strongly recommended that applicants reach out to their respective Regional Tourism Development Officers (RTOs) for assistance.

ITI is anticipating that by eliminating the EOI stage, applicants will have more time to consult with an RTO and build a more fulsome proposal.

The budgets for TPDMP and CTIC remain at $1.086 million and $200 thousand respectively. The deadline for submissions is January 26, 2022.

Quote

“The GNWT is committed to protecting its tourism industry through the duration of this pandemic. I am pleased to see a pilot approach that will help streamline an application process for tourism operators and community organizations. Each year, the number of applications proves the need for targeted support programs to help operators and communities upgrade and promote their products. ”

- Caroline Wawzonek, Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment
