Photographer Bob Wilson’s latest series ‘YK Centred’ will be on display in the Mezzanine Gallery at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre beginning December 6, 2024. The exhibit features 46 photographs of Yellowknife’s downtown core and invites viewers to see their environments in new and unexpected ways.
Bob Wilson is a Yellowknife-based photographer who has been capturing the unique spirit of the Northwest Territories for more than 40 years. He has spent his entire working career in downtown Yellowknife, where he now resides, and continues to document the surroundings that have been a constant source of inspiration throughout his photography.
The exhibit can be viewed between December 6, 2024 and May 19, 2025 from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday. An opening event will take place in January 2025, with further details to come.
‘YK Centred’ is the first exhibit selected through the Art Selection Committee, which evaluates applications for the Mezzanine Gallery. The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre is pleased to welcome Brandon Larocque (Nahanni Butte), Laura Hodgins (Yellowknife), Nancy Mullick (Yellowknife), and Stefan Nicoloff (Inuvik) as the newest members of the committee.
The next Mezzanine Gallery exhibit will open in June 2025 and will feature Tłı̨chǫ artist Matthew Vukson’s exhibit "Ehtśo Nàtséelii (We Sew Beads)".
