(June 6, 2013) - Mr. Speaker, on May 31st, 2013, in response to questions from Mr. Alfred Moses, Member for Inuvik Boot Lake, I addressed aspects of this Government’s plan to provide relief for the residents of Inuvik by introducing liquefied natural gas or LNG to the community.  I would like to clarify one point about LNG storage plans.

YELLOWKNIFE (June 6, 2013) –  A renewed Early Childhood Development Framework from the Departments of Education, Culture and Employment and Health and Social Services will give NWT children the right start by focusing on the important early years from prenatal to age five.  The departments collaborated on renewing the original 2001 Framework, incorporating new research, emerging information, best practices and techniques that reflect the most effective approaches to early childhood development.

Information gathered during these regional hazard identification risk assessments will be used to improve emergency planning and preparedness in the Northwest Territories. The workshops are being hosted by the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs.
