I would like to thank President Chris Buist of the Norman Wells Chamber of Commerce for inviting me to attend the Sahtu Shale Oil Industry update. It is always a pleasure to be in the Sahtu Region.

My thanks – first of all – to the NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines and the NWT Geoscience Office for their continued good work and commitment in hosting and organizing this annual event – and in particular – for the invitation and opportunity to speak this morning.

Mr. Speaker, I rise in the House today to update the people of the Northwest Territories on the status of the barren-ground caribou and the condition of the various herds.
YELLOWKNIFE (November 5, 2012) – The Honourable Jackson Lafferty, Minister of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) today announced a new curriculum designed to help people gain the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to manage their personal finances.
Mr. Speaker, the Government of the Northwest Territories is dedicated to providing relevant and necessary programming to suit the needs of our adult learners.
Mr. Speaker, I am pleased to update Members on the Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk highway project.
