INUVIK (September 11, 2012) - Three Inuvik residents were honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal during the community's Diamond Jubilee celebrations last weekend.

FORT PROVIDENCE (August 17, 2012) – Catherine Beaulieu Bouvier Lamoureux will be celebrated as a National Historic Person this weekend.
Ms. Lamoureux is the first NWT woman to receive this designation from the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.
NORMAN WELLS (August 2, 2012) – The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal was presented to Mr. Richard Hardy yesterday during the Sahtu Secretariat Inc. Annual General Assembly.
The Honourable Glen Abernethy and the Honourable Ethel Blondin-Andrew, Chairperson of the Sahtu Secretariat, presented the Diamond Jubilee Medal to Mr. Hardy.
YELLOWKNIFE (July 12, 2012) –Premier Bob McLeod and Alberta Premier Alison Redford discussed issues of mutual interest to the Northwest Territories and Alberta at a meeting in Calgary on July 9, 2012.
YELLOWKNIFE (July 5, 2012) – Twenty-five Northwest Territories residents from Deline, Fort Resolution, Fort Simpson, Fort Smith, Hay River and Yellowknife are receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of their outstanding service to their communities and territory.
On Friday, June 8th, rising water levels in the Liard River caused a flood in the community of Nahanni Butte. Most residents of the community were evacuated to Fort Simpson, where they remain. The GNWT is currently assessing conditions in the community to determine when it will be safe for residents to return to their homes.

Homes should be places where strong individuals and families support and love each other. All people have the right to live free from the fear of violence in their own homes and communities.
June 14, 2012 - Mr. Speaker, I want to take a moment before we all leave for the summer to reflect on our accomplishments as a Legislative Assembly over the past few weeks.
This has been the first, extended working Session of the 17th Assembly. It has been a long Session, especially at this time of the year, but we have done some important work together.
