HAY RIVER (June 16, 2014) – The NWT is expected to have a convention bureau as of January 1, 2015, thanks to a new contribution agreement between the Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) and Northwest Territories Tourism (NWTT).
YELLOWKNIFE (June 20, 2014) – The Department of Transportation has almost tripled the fine distracted drivers will be levied from $115 to $322, which includes a 15% Victim of Crime surcharge. The substantial increase supports the 17th Assembly priority of contributing to safe communities in the Northwest Territories by reducing vehicle accidents, injuries, and fatalities.

YELLOWKNIFE (June 11, 2014) – I was deeply saddened today to learn of the loss of Robert Alexie Jr., President of the Gwich’in Tribal Council.
President Alexie was a strong leader who helped shape the political landscape of Northwest Territories through his important work on the Gwich’in Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement and the NWT Devolution Agreement. His support of devolution was extremely valuable in helping us achieve that important milestone.
