Liquor delivery now available to communities with liquor stores

Yellowknife — October 19, 2021

A recent amendment to the Liquor Regulations will allow Northwest Territories’ (NWT) liquor stores to sell and provide home delivery of liquor to customers including those who are in isolation due to COVID-19.

 

All NWT liquor stores are now able to sell beer, wine and spirits for home delivery to customers residing in the community where the liquor store is located.

 

To order, a form must be submitted along with valid ID to the store in your community.  For more information, visit www.ntlcc.ca/en/liquor.

 

Quick facts

  • Liquor stores may only sell up to $200 in liquor per day per order for delivery, by common carrier, to customers at their home address.  A single container of liquor at a purchase price exceeding $200.00 is allowable.
  • Liquor stores may only sell up to 6-375mL Spirits per day per order for delivery by common carrier to customers at their home address.
  • Liquor stores must use a common carrier to deliver liquor to customers at their home address.  A common carrier (taxis, private delivery services, etc.) is only permitted for the delivery of liquor.   
  • Mail order to any other community continues to be permitted.
  • Yellowknife liquor stores can deliver to Ndilǫ and Dettah.
  • Orders and deliveries will only be available within liquor store operating hours.  No deliveries will be made on Sundays.
