The Dehcho Divisional Education Council invites applications for the position of Humanities High School Teacher Grades 10 - 12
Term position

Dehcho Divisional Education Council invites applications from certified teachers who are dedicated to teaching and have experience and/or interest in the cultural, linguistic and traditional heritage of the Dene. The teacher will offer a holistic, culturally relevant program that supports the language and cultural heritage of the students and addresses the needs of all students who may have learning challenges in multi-grade classes.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible for a Northwest Territories Professional Teaching Certificate
- Experience in teaching multigrade and combined grade classes in 7-12
- Ability to work as a team member in planning, delivery and assessment of programs and students
- An understanding of how to use Universal Design for Learning to ensure all young people are engaged and learning every day
- Experience providing culturally relevant programming
- Experience with BC and Alberta curriculum is considered an asset
- Experience teaching Humanities is considered an asset

Failure to provide a satisfactory CRC/VSC may deem the candidate disqualified from the competitive process.

- Priority 4: Indeterminate Teachers eligible for Transfer or Promotion and not included in Priorities 2 & 3;
