Job Information
SCOPE
This position operates repairs, maintains, and enhances the Beaufort-Delta Health Authority (NTHSSA) assets, in addition to providing client supports to meet operational needs. This position works in accordance with standards and processes established by the Hospital, Canadian Standards Association, (CSA), Underwriters Laboratory (UL), American Society Mechanical Engineers (ASME), National Fire Code Canada (NFCC), manufacturers, and accreditation, so that NTHSSA assets are maintained in optimum condition. This position works within GNWT acts and regulations, Hospital policy and procedure, and municipal building codes to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Training and experience in 28000-14 Standards Operation and maintenance of health care facilities.
Training in and experience in CSA 2317 Standards for infection control during construction renovation and maintenance in health care facilities.
One (1) year working in an Acute Care health care facility.
Five (5) years of trades experience in plumbing, carpentry or electrical.
Training working on Steris Autoclaves, Washers, Scopes, tables and lights.
Training and experience in Rana Medical gas systems, oxygen concentrators, and vacuum suction systems.
Training and experience working with in the WHIMIS and WSCC rules and regulations.
Class 5 Drivers License is required.
Equivalencies
Able to complete the medical gas training
Experience working in a hospital
Experience working with processing equipment (eg: Medivators, steam ovens and specialty equipment).
