The Territorial Manager, Audiology and Speech Language Pathology is responsible for providing territorial leadership and operational oversight to ensure the consistent, high-quality delivery of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology services across the Northwest Territories. The position leads the development and implementation of standards, protocols, and service delivery strategies aligned with DHSS legislation and NTHSSA policies, while managing day-to-day clinical operations in the Yellowknife Region.

Through collaboration with regional managers, system leaders, and partner agencies, the Manager supports territory-wide program development, promotes best clinical practices, and ensures services are responsive to regional needs while achieving optimal system-wide outcomes for NWT residents. The position manages an annual operating budget of approximately $2 million and oversees a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and support staff.

Rehabilitation services in the NWT are delivered through four regional teams located in Fort Smith, Hay River, Inuvik, and Yellowknife, and include audiology, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy services. All regional teams provide OT, PT, and SLP services, while audiology services are provided in Yellowknife and Inuvik. Services are delivered to both regional centres and smaller communities using a variety of methods, including community travel clinics, telehealth, and remote service delivery models. Child Development Teams are embedded within the Yellowknife and Inuvik rehabilitation programs.  

Key Responsibilities:
-     Provides territorial leadership for planning, standardization, and delivery of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology services across the NWT
-     Assesses service needs, establishes priorities, and leads territory wide program development in collaboration with DHSS, NTHSSA leadership, regional partners, and stakeholders
-     Leads delivery of equitable, accessible, safe, and client centred Audiology and SLP services; provides subject matter expertise and strategic direction to regional programs
-     Monitors service quality and performance, implements improvement initiatives, evaluates outcomes, and reports risks, incidents, and results to senior leadership
-     Leads quality improvement, accreditation readiness, policy development, clinical standards, care pathways, and competency development to support consistent practice
-     Collaborates with system partners to balance territorial consistency with regional service needs and supports implementation through communication, travel, and oversight
-     Provides human resource and financial management, including staffing, performance management, labour relations, succession planning, and budget oversight

Key Qualifications:
-    Master's in Audiology or Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
AND
-    Five (5) years of clinical Audiology or SLP practice.

Equivalent Qualifications:
-    Bachelor Degree Audiology or Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
AND 
-    Ten (10) years of clinical Audiology or SLP practice

Additional Requirements:
-    Maintain membership with Speech and Audiology Canada (SAC) and licensure as an Audiologist or Speech Language Pathologist in a Canadian province.

Labour Market Supplement

The successful incumbent will receive a $10,000 supplement upon hire and an additional $10,000 supplement after completion of 12 months of continuous employment contingent on remaining employed in an eligible position for a further 12 months.   This is a taxable benefit and will be subject to applicable deductions
