Job Information
Located in Yellowknife and reporting to the Manager of Legal Aid Commission Program Support, you will manage the receipt, formatting, and transmission of confidential client information to legal counsel, ensuring client legal rights are protected. Timely and accurate distribution of client materials is critical to prevent any miscarriage of justice.
You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the Legal Aid Commission's centralized disclosure management processes and the Legal Aid Information Network (LAIN). Responsibilities include liaising with the LAIN developer, troubleshooting database issues, coordinating staff training, and ensuring data integrity across the organization.
This role requires a thorough understanding of criminal procedure to correctly match disclosure and data to the appropriate lawyer and circuit in a complex, time-sensitive environment. You will also prepare the Legal Aid Commission Annual Report and Access to Justice Services Annual Report, ensuring accurate program and data reporting to Justice Canada for continued funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage receipt, formatting, and distribution of confidential client documentation.
- Administer and maintain LAIN; troubleshoot issues and coordinate staff training.
- Ensure data integrity through coaching and support for front-line staff.
- Prepare annual reports and ensure timely reporting to Justice Canada.
- Act as liaison with LAIN developer for system updates and problem resolution.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of data collection and database management.
- Proficiency with information systems technologies and data-related software.
- Knowledge of criminal procedure and disclosure processes.
Key Qualifications:
Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems plus two (2) years of experience in database design, administration, and implementation.
Acceptable Equivalencies:
Diploma in Business Administration, Computer Science or Management Information Systems plus four (4) years of experience in database design, administration and implementation.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $45.34 per hour to $54.15 per hour (approximately $88,413 - $105,593) plus a pro-rated annual Northern Allowance of $1.90 per hour.
