We are seeking a passionate and dedicated educator who believes in student success, inclusive education, and the importance of promoting French language and culture in a minority-language environment.
What You'll Do
As a Francisation Support Teacher, you will support students in developing their French language skills, strengthening their Francophone identity, and connecting with Francophone culture. Working closely with classroom teachers, you will help ensure all students have the tools they need to succeed academically and socially in French.
This role includes:
- Supporting teachers with francisation strategies and resources.
- Working directly with students requiring additional language support.
- Promoting literacy, numeracy, and student achievement.
- Contributing to a collaborative and culturally responsive school environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education or completion of a recognized Teacher Education Program.
- Eligibility for a Northwest Territories Teaching Certificate.
- Experience of 3 to 5 years providing francisation services is considered a strong asset

- Priority 1: Teachers who have received official lay-off notice;
- Priority 2: Stage One Priority (S1P) - Indigenous people who are recognized members and descendent of a First Nations, Métis, or Inuit people indigenous to the present boundaries of the Northwest Territories;
- Priority 3: Stage Two Priority (S2P) - Indigenous people who are recognized members and descendent of a First Nations, Métis, or Inuit people indigenous to areas of Canada, outside of the present boundaries of the Northwest Territories.;
- Priority 4: Indeterminate Teachers eligible for Transfer or Promotion and not included in Priorities 2 & 3;
- Priority 5: Term teachers not included in Priorities 2 & 3;
- Priority 6: NWT Resident Teachers not employed by the GNWT or included in Priorities 2 & 3;
- Priority 7: Teachers who are not residents of the NWT and who are not included in Priorities.

The salary range for this position is approximately from $95,232 - $153,748 per annum, plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
