Are you an experienced Registered Nurse with leadership skills and a passion for providing exceptional care to seniors and long-term care residents? The Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority (NTHSSA) is seeking a Nurse in Charge, Long Term Care to lead the day-to-day operations of our 18-bed Long Term Care facility in Fort Simpson

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Continuing Care Services, the Nurse in Charge is responsible for managing facility operations while providing direct nursing care to residents. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care that meets the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and daily living needs of residents.

Key Responsibilities:
-   Lead and coordinate daily operations of the Long Term Care facility.
-   Supervise and support nursing and support staff.
-   Manage staffing, scheduling, performance evaluations, and training.
-   Monitor quality of care and ensure compliance with professional standards and policies.
-   Develop, implement, and evaluate resident care plans.
-   Provide direct nursing care and clinical leadership.
-   Collaborate with families, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
-   Participate in quality improvement initiatives, education, and staff development activities.

Key Qualifications:
-   A Nursing Degree, AND
-   Three (3) years of recent nursing experience in a long-term care setting, AND
-   One (1) year of supervisory experience.

Additional Requirements:
-   Registration with the College of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut (CANNN) is required.
