Request A FireSmart Advanced Home Assessment

Overview

The FireSmart Advanced Home Assessment Program is a voluntary property assessment program for residents looking to determine and mitigate wildfire risks at their home, cabin, or business.

The assessment will highlight areas of risk and provide specific recommendations of actions and upgrades residents can take to increase their property’s resilience to wildfire. The assessor will provide a comprehensive report once the assessment is complete.

How it works

  • The Advanced Home Assessment is conducted by a formally trained assessor. The assessor will visit the property with the resident and review key areas within the home ignition zone.

  • Assessments usually take between 1 and 1.5 hours. Homeowners should be present during the assessment.

  • Your assessor will speak with you during and after the assessment to discuss results and answer questions.

  • Assessments may be delivered by local governments or the territorial government.

  • The information is not shared with other government departments or outside parties – only between the fire service and the owner.
