Abiotic Monitoring Network
The Government of the Northwest Territories has a network of climate monitoring stations across the NWT that monitor a variety of environmental parameters. Data have been used to compare evaporation rates, calculate local site water balances for contaminated sites, inform regulatory applications, and provide information to numerous academic research projects. Current discussions include working with the Department of Infrastructure (INF) to expand the network to sites beneficial for both groups. Partners include the NWT Cumulative Impacts Monitoring Program (NWT CIMP), INF and climate change programs.
