NWT Métis Nation Sign AiP to Ensure Participation in Devolution Negotiations
February 9, 2011 - The President of the Northwest Territory Métis Nation, Betty Villebrun, today signed the agreement-in-principle (AiP) on devolution formalizing their intent to be a part of negotiations towards a final agreement.
The AiP was previously signed by Northwest Territories Premier Floyd K. Roland, Chair of the Inuvialuit Regional Corporation Ms. Nellie Cournoyea, and Canadian Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians Mr. John Duncan.
