August 19, 2011 - The Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs Robert McLeod congratulates the communities of Fort Smith and Déline for performing admirably during their emergency situations this past year. The minister emphasizes how important it is to have trained people in the communities to deal with these types of emergency situations: knowing what to do will save lives.

Mr. Speaker, it is my pleasure today to provide Members of the Legislative Assembly with an update on the Northwest Territories’ Team that attended the 2011 Western Canada Summer Games that were hosted by the City of Kamloops, British Columbia, from August 5th to August 14th.

Minister McLeod will host and chair the 2011 PNWER Capital Visit and Arctic Caucus in Yellowknife. MLA for Kam Lake and Chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Development and Infrastructure David Ramsay will also be attending.
