GNWT Holds Government-to-Government Meetings with Beaufort-Delta Regional Council

INUVIK (April 10, 2014) – The GNWT has concluded government-to-government meetings with the Beaufort-Delta Regional Council (BDRC). GNWT Cabinet ministers and BDRC leaders discussed their joint commitment to the transition to self-government and to establishing an intergovernmental agreement on programs and services.

YELLOWKNIFE (April 10, 2014) – Minister of Finance J. Michael Miltenberger announced today that customers of the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) can now pay their account online at any one of the five major banks. By simply following a few easy steps customers can quickly and conveniently pay their property taxes, student loans, land leases or any other invoice that they may receive from the GNWT.

Wek’èezhìi Land and Water Board Wins 2014 Excellence in Water Stewardship Award for the NWT

YELLOWKNIFE (March 21, 2014) – Premier Bob McLeod announced today that the Wek’èezhìi Land and Water Board (WLWB) is the recipient of the 2014 Council of the Federation (COF) Excellence in Water Stewardship Award for the Northwest Territories (NWT).

The award recognizes outstanding achievement and innovative practice and leadership in the area of water stewardship and is presented to organizations, partnerships, businesses, institutions and communities in each province and territory.

YELLOWKNIFE (March 21, 2014) – Fort McPherson resident Charlie Snowshoe’s lifetime of commitment to the environment will be recognized with an Indspire Award later today in Winnipeg.

“Charlie is a role model for all of us in achieving our goal of an environment that will sustain current and future generations,” said Minister Glen Abernethy, who will represent the GNWT at the event. “He knows that land is life, and he has been an inspiration to many of our residents through his work to ensure responsible stewardship of our northern land and waterways.”
