Appointment of Municipal Administrator in Enterprise

News Releases

Yellowknife — May 7, 2025

Today, an order declaring that the Hamlet of Enterprise is under Administration is in effect. This order will remain in effect until it is repealed at a date to be determined.

The Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA) has determined it has become necessary to place the Hamlet of Enterprise under administration due to the governance, financial, and operational challenges.

The order appoints Grant Hood as Municipal Administrator and relieves the Mayor and all members of the Hamlet of Enterprise Council of their duties. Mr. Hood has over a decade’s worth of experience, including working as the Senior Administration Officer in Inuvik, as well as many other roles with governance, leadership, and financial responsibilities.

This exceptional measure has been deemed necessary to stabilize operations, ensure good governance and address the challenges that have faced the Hamlet.
