FORT SIMPSON (June 6, 2014) – Open houses supported by Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) are positioning Dehcho Region residents to take advantage of economic opportunities that may arise from harvesting morel mushrooms.

Mr. Speaker, I rise before the House today to inform you that Cabinet has agreed to begin developing regulations under the NWT Oil and Gas Operations Act that will set out filing requirements for projects involving hydraulic fracturing.

HAY RIVER (June 2, 2014) – As of June 21, beach attendants will be on the Hay River Territorial park beach, providing supervision and educating beachgoers about the importance of water safety.

Mr. Speaker, tourism is the Northwest Territories’ largest renewable resource-based sector. Last year, approximately 76,000 tourists visited the territory – one of the highest visitor numbers we have seen in the last decade.
