Funding distributed through Anti-Poverty Fund and NGO Stabilization Fund

Public Service Announcement

Yellowknife — August 11, 2025

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) has distributed funding for the 2025-2026 fiscal year through the Anti-Poverty Fund and NGO Stabilization Fund.

These funds support organizations across the Northwest Territories that are working to reduce poverty, promote social inclusion, and strengthen capacity in the non-profit sector.

The Anti-Poverty Fund provides support to community-driven projects and initiatives that help reduce poverty at the local level while the NGO Stabilization Fund supports eligible organizations with capacity development and operational stability to help them deliver critical services to Northerners.

A recent survey looking at the two funds was shared with organizations and governments across the NWT. The GNWT plans to share the survey results with NGOs, Indigenous governments, Indigenous organizations and the public this fall. A comprehensive response with proposed improvements based on the survey feedback will also be shared later this year.
