The GNWT is seeking nominations from individuals in the Sahtu and Beaufort Delta regions to be members on the NWT Arts Council.

The NWT Arts Council reviews and recommends applications for funding for ITI’s Small Arts Project Grants (up to $5000) and Medium Arts Project Grants ($5,000 - $10,000).  The combined budget of both programs is $500,000.

The Arts Council consists of six members, one each from Beaufort Delta, Dehcho, North Slave, Sahtú, South Slave and Tłı̨chǫ regions.  The council makes the funding decisions by consensus and provides insight into the arts and culture of each region.

Both positions are two-year terms starting in January 2026. Previous board experience is not required, though nominees must live in the region for which they apply. Applications for the positions close September 15, 2025.
