Northwest Territories Premier Caroline Cochrane joins an international gathering of key Northern leaders at the 2022 Arctic Circle Greenland Forum in Nuuk, Greenland, from August 27 to 29, 2022.

Subjects covered at the forum range from the Arctic’s growing geopolitical profile and Indigenous food innovation to the use of Big Data in tourism management. The forum will feature workshops on priority topics for the GNWT including Arctic security, sustainable economic and infrastructural development, accessible housing, and climate change mitigation.

The Premier and the NWT delegation, including Deputy Premier and Minister of Infrastructure Diane Archie, will work with other leaders from Canada’s North to advance the NWT’s economic, social, and environmental priorities. They will exchange ideas with global thought-leaders, regional experts, and Arctic innovators while working towards a cooperative, shared future with our circumpolar partners.

Premier Cochrane will deliver comments during the plenary session for the forum and participate in panel discussions on critical minerals, multi-user infrastructure, Indigenous participation in global politics, and healthy communities. Minister Archie will deliver a keynote address on the importance of multi-use, multi-user infrastructure in the Arctic.
