Yellowknife — May 18, 2022

The Department of Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA) is proposing amendments to the Western Canada Lottery Act Regulations that will establish a minimum age of 18 years for the purchase of Western Canada Lottery products, and a minimum age of 16 years for the sale of these products.
The GNWT, led by the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA), is seeking feedback from NWT residents on these regulatory changes. This public engagement begins on May 17, 2022 and will conclude on June 13th, 2022.

NWT residents are invited to provide feedback on the proposed amendments. To do so please send your feedback in an email to MACA_Info@gov.nt.ca on or before June 13, 2022 or visit our online public engagement site at haveyoursay.nwt-tno.ca/proposed-changes-to-the-western-canada-lottery-act-regulations.
At the conclusion of the public engagement process, MACA will compile a What We Heard Report and publish it online, and then determine next steps based on the feedback received.
