Yellowknife, NT (July 14, 2022) – With the recent rains in the Beaufort Delta, the Superintendent of Parks has signed a Lifting Fire Ban Order for all Territorial Parks in the Beaufort Delta Region.
Due to continuing dry conditions, the Superintendent of Parks has signed a Fire Prohibition Order for all Territorial Parks in the Beaufort Delta Region. The ban prohibits open fires, including the use of approved fire pits.
Northern leaders, working as the Intergovernmental Council (IGC), are working to identify and draft the regulations needed to bring the Northwest Territories’ (NWT) first Mineral Resources Act (MRA) into force by 2023.
Due to continuing dry conditions, the City of Yellowknife has implemented a fire ban on open air fires within the City’s municipal boundaries. The ban prohibits open fires, including the use of approved fire pits.
