Job Information

Community:

As the oldest documented community in the Northwest Territories, Fort Resolution is steeped in the traditions and the living history of the North. The community of 600 residents lies on the southern shore of the Great Slave Lake on a peninsula on Resolution Bay. With abundant natural forests, and proximity to world class angling and hunting, the community's economy benefits from this natural bounty. Fort Resolution offers unique opportunities to observe the traditions of the Dene people, including the annual Moose Deer Spring Carnival. The community's educational hub is the recently renovated Deninu School, which offers diverse educational programming from K-12. Deninu School is a very active and exciting place with a wide range of activities occurring. This newly renovated school is located in Fort Resolution on the south shores of Great Slave Lake. There is a student population of approximately 100 students, complemented by a staff of 14. The school offers academic programs from Junior Kindergarten to grade 12.
