Water Quantity Monitoring

NWT Hydrometric Monitoring Network

The Department of Environment and Climate Change (ECC) contributes funding to the operation of the Northwest Territories portion of the National Hydrometric Network, operated by Environment and Climate Change Canada's Water Survey Division. Stream flows and lake levels are measured routinely at about 111 sites.

Data are published annually and are available from the Water Survey of Canada National Water Quantity Survey Program. This site also includes real-time hydrometric data for many river stations.

NWT Water Monitoring Bulletin

These bulletins are intended to provide an update on water flow and level data at select NWT Hydrometric Network gauge stations across the Northwest Territories. NWT Water Monitoring Bulletins are posted monthly and distributed through email. To be included on the email distribution list, please contact ecc_communications@gov.nt.ca.

The following are water monitoring bulletins for the past year.
